A look of things to come

Today we had the interior cleaned, oiled and polished to keep the wood supple and any dust getting inside at bay.

We did her windows inside and out. And took this picture to show everyone a glimmer of what she will become shortly.

10 days and counting

10 days and counting till the end of Pandemic Lockdown Alternative Activity (PLAA) Time.

Boats always look better with a little paint on them.

Our second coat of primer paint is now on and Idle is starting to look like a vessel again.

End of another PLAA day

Ending our PLAA time today we got Idle her second coat of primer on her hull for easy painting. We also adjusted her stripe area back to the original score lines when she was built.

One more day of light sanding on her hull and upperworks with a nice wash down for dirt and dust before painting day on Wednesday.
We can’t wait to see how her paint looks.

Done PLAA time for another day

Finishing off our PLAA time today we got above decks and got our cockpit and cabin area tops sanded.

Another day and we will be ready to mask up Idle Wind for paint… This is my most exciting time for me when restoring the boats. Proper prep means less paint used. My most exciting time refurbishing is when the tape comes off. Looking forward to seeing her look better and better from here on in.
