An end to an abbreviated season

Out of the water today with our vessel Island Hugger 1.

This day is always a bit of a mix of sadness and elation.

Sadness we have to lay up the boat, but elated we had such a good season.

We made soo many new friends aboard this abbreviated season, all looking for some escape and relaxation.
We had small businesses doing workations with us were so much fun as well.

With 497 guests safely aboard in 2021 and enjoying the fruits of our labour’s online by being #1 on some social media channels we have been that light shining out there saying we can have fun and be safe on the water.

Our biggest kick was seeing families enjoy their time aboard and forget the trials of Covid 19… even if for a short time.

Time for some maintenance and some refits before she heads out to her sleeping place. Scan the QR code picture to see everything we have going in 2022.

A message from our captain

Due to excessive weeds and low water at our approach to Port Rowan harbour dock and to preserve our equipment from damage, as of Wednesday this week we will be departing and returning from our alternate location for all tours going forward.

Our secondary location is located at Collins Harbour Resort, 5 minutes drive east of Port Rowan on the Front Road.

The address is
274 Front Rd
St. Williams Ontario
N0E 1P0

To ensure everyone booked gets this update, we are including a Google maps location on this email.

When you pull in at the sign on Front Road, continue down the driveway, past the main house and garage to the boat ramp. Parking is at the water and is at no charge.
There are washroom facilities present as well.

Thank you for your understanding in change of location due to low water and marine growth at Port Rowan Harbour.

If you have any concerns please call me directly at 519 718 9608.

Final Top Coat – CHIMO II

Final top coat is now on CHIMO II and I must say she is looking as good as her 1971 debut, possibly even better.

CHIMO II will sit for a day or two before we paint on her strips and take her to IDLE Hour for her final deck fitting.

It is a real pleasure to work on something my dad built years ago, A special restoration with return to duty shortly
